What is Just Independent Living?
We are a warm, home-style independent senior living community located in Historic Springfield. Our property features two distinct homes on a single lot, providing a close-knit, residential environment where seniors can enjoy independence, dignity, and community.
What types of rooms do you offer?
We offer both private and shared rooms to accommodate different personal preferences and budgets. Please contact us directly for current pricing and availability.
What is included in the monthly rate?
Our goal is to provide a stress-free, maintenance-free lifestyle. Your monthly rate includes three nutritious meals daily, all utilities, Wi-Fi, daily wellness check-ins, weekly housekeeping for all common areas, and full access to our community activities.
What kind of activities and social events are available?
We maintain a highly active monthly calendar to keep our residents engaged and entertained. Regular activities include bingo, arts and crafts, movie nights, a walking club, Sunday socials, karaoke, gardening, cooking, and scheduled field trips. We also host a special Family Day so loved ones can join in on the fun.
Do you provide medical care?
As an independent living community, we focus on lifestyle and wellness rather than intensive medical care. We do conduct daily wellness check-ins to ensure our residents are thriving. For additional needs, optional mobile health providers can visit the property, and our Historic Springfield location is situated in close proximity to local hospitals.
Are meals provided?
Yes. We serve three nutritious, home-style meals every day. We also have snacks available throughout the day for our residents.
What other amenities are on the property?
Residents have full access to our outdoor patio and gardens, a dedicated recreation room, and resident laundry facilities. We also coordinate on-site beauty and barber services to keep you looking and feeling your best.
Who manages the property?
Just Independent Living is actively managed by our founders. Melissa Chavis serves as our Operations Director, and Latrell Dorsey is our Property Director. Together, they are committed to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and engaging home for every resident.
